Just wanted everyone to know what's going on...
Basically, this site was long overdue for a complete overhaul.
As most of the staff knows, i've been working for some time on a new design for the site, and a full conversion to vBulletin from phpBB software for the forums.
I'm anticipating starting a new job this summer, and possibly moving. Plus Mediamax has announced (and is in beta testing) a new service that it will release soon to completely replace the old streamload/mediamax system (that hasn't worked correctly since for over a year now). They anticipate an open beta at the end of the summer (which is about the time i'll be overwhelmed with a new job and a move).
Soo... to make a long story short... i've spent the past weekend importing the current forum database as well as the OLD OLD OLD forum database (that we lost back in 2004) in a brand new forum running vBulletin.
The imports both went well, but there is a LOT of cleaning up that needs doing. So in order to not have to re-import when i'm done cleaning up everything... i've locked this forum down.
You can still post in this topic, and PM people... but anything done here from this point forward will NOT be saved. It will be lost as soon as the new site goes "live" (which will hopefully be in another day or so).
Watch here for updates...

Old old old database? As in the original one that typus ran? Or the garbage one that Reyrey ran?

This is the old database from the forums typus ran.
Also, after it's setup I can merge old useracounts manually into the new ones if it didn't do it automatically (goes by email address matching).

Hmm.........well if you get to my user name from typus' database, my username was "Mr.Flooder" whereas now I'm just Flooder. Either name is acceptable, but I would prefer to be "Mr.Flooder" again if you could :). Thanks DiSpy. <3.

I finally remembered how to get to the dev board, but there my username is hawkecrystal and msg count is around 2000 while here it is HawkeCrystal with over 12200. I know that Di had to merge my username while testing due to email changes so might have something to do with that.

Hawke- Yeah, that's the problem that I was having with the "imported_username" stuff.
I'm still going tru trying to fit it. I *did* do yours already, but when i'm done I have to re-run the script that calculates the user postcounts.
If you look at my profile it says I have like 1 post, but if you do a search for posts by me there's thousands that show up... it's the same thing... I already merged mine, but have to re-run the script that calculates the user postcounts. Only reason why I haven't done it yet is because I still have a lot more users to merge, and would rather do it all at once at the end.

Ok, Mr.Flooder your merged now. (It didn't auto-merge you because you had two separate email addresses... I kept the most recent one.)

Would it be a female dog if I update my email address now or after the merge? The one I used to register for this forum is waaaaaaaay outdated and no longer accessible.

@ CJcool- The library asked me not to renew the "GoodDayAnime.com" domain name. Sorry :( (I think they may be planning to change the club name in the future.)
I showed the new site to you at the library, but the other mods here have seen the new site also. :) In fact they were asked to login and help me test it out.
@Flooder- I've already done the import and merged everything (just cleaning it up) so changing anything on here won't get changed on the new site. Just wait until it's up, or PM me with what you want your new email address to be over there and I will change it for you on there (in the admin panel).

Helloooooo!!!
havent been on this site in a good 6 years or so... wow. i think it was that long anyway (unless the site wasnt even made then? :P ), because i have been carrying around a huge box of burned anime cd's... yes cd's...everywhere i've moved for the past 6 years. i never really watched any of it, a little but considering the amount of anime i got off this site, i havent watched any. it must've been long ago because now i would be trading with DVD's, which is the main reason why i decided to come back and check out how this site was doing.
i finally was able to kick the "anime is for kids and nerds" stigma, seeing as how i had turned into a badass teenager, and just rewatching the 1st episode of NGE makes me regret the whole time. i love it.. what can i say! i got into the big box of hundreds and hundreds of CD's, and am now re-organizing, trimming, and re-burning to DVD (what a relief... so many less discs!) all the old cd's are going in the garbage, not even going to bother offering them for trade or sale or anything. some are scratched, they're not all uniform, etc etc and i cant have that. i ALMOST sold the entire collection (it really is a huge collection) for $20 to my friends brother, because i just wanted to get rid of the damn stuff, but he refused to pay that much for "a bunch of burned cd's". oh well, his loss. and now im very very glad i didnt make that foolish move. the cost of blank cd's and shipping alone would probably be close to...maybe $750? not to mention the time i spent on it..
anyway, sorry for the rant. was just wondering if, when the forums are back up, does anime trading thru the mail still go on on this site? it was a big hobby of mine when i was 12 or 13 (now 20), and i spent lots of time burning cd's, making packages, and shipping, and of course receiving. i absolutely loved it, and when i get around to actually watching most of this stuff (been doing lots of reading, it all sounds so good!), i will be wanting to fill in missing episodes, and get new (and old) shows to add to the collection.
so.... long story short: when can i trade some more???? burned to DVD's of course.. :p
thanks!!

@ DiSpy: is it possible to look in the old DB to see if my account is still there? i dont even remember what it was, and definitely dont remember the password, but i think the s/n was LiL_bOyZ. if its there i wouldnt mind knowing the join date, # of posts, last activity, anything like that. if not, who cares! thanks!

@DiSpy: Is gaming night still at the library and has the anime club been cancelled?

@cjcool - anime & gaming are still going on.
@mr.bosshog - I will look up the stats if you want, but if you had an account on the old boards it's still there. Everything got saved.
I'm sorry it's taking so long, but I *am* working on it.
