I'm hoping to be able to finish this darn thing this weekend and get it up and running.

I'm still having some problems, but I figure we can work the rest out while the majority is up and running.

I've cleaned up all the forums (except for a few small things here and there), and was able to fix most of the problem with the "imported_username", by manually going thru and renaming each one back to just "username". The only problem I wasn't able to fix (because I don't really have a record of it to refer to), is that some of you may have to login with your old password from typus' old board if the password you use on this board doesn't work (try this one first, if it doesn't work, try your old one). The problem is, that on the people it reverted back to the old one, the old email addy's associated with the account might not be valid, so if it reverted to old password, and the email is no longer valid, then you can't use the "forgot password" feature to be emailed your password. Anyway, if that happens to any of you... email me (or use the "contact" form that will be in a link at the bottom of the new site).

Remember, all posts, etc are there... the software just wasn't intelligent enough to differentiate which account was the newer one when it merged accounts for some people (damn thing has been a thorn in my side!!).

I also think i've also fixed the problem with people importing into the incorrect usergroups. Basically, I just changed everyone to the "registered user" usergroup and then went thru and manually changed the ones that needed changing (mods, staff, banned users, etc).

There's still a few missing icons here and there, but that's not too important... I can add those after it's up.

The other thing that's not done yet is the new file depot. But again, I can add that after it's up.

Whew, ok... I think I covered everything.

Oh, there may be some duplicate posts in some forums (like rules and the jlessons), because we re-created the threads when we started the new board from scratch. I'm hoping the mods for each section can go thru and merge or clean them up. I attempted a bunch, but it's just too much for me to handle alone. Same with sticky's in each section. The import didn't keep sticky threads stickied... so I went thru and manually re-stickied the ones I could spot... but I prolly missed a bunch. I'm (again) hoping the mods for each section can help me out by cleaning them up a bit and finding any threads that I missed that *should* be stickied.

Oh... DUH!

Totally forgot to add... I tried like 4 times to get the import to import the avatars for each user. But they were all off-site links, and the software kept freaking out about it. So alas... everyone will have to add the link to their off-site avatars into their account control panel (profile page) again.

Same with most signatures.

Lastly, I had a problem with the import mapping the correct profile fields to each other... so for some reason, and only on SOME users, some people's old "location" field on this board, got imported into the "streamload id" field on the new board. Don't ask me why it only happened on SOME users... but if you see some weird stuff in someone streamload ID field... that's why.

The only alternative I could think of was to clear the "streamload id" field for everyone... but I wasn't sure if the streamload area mods would like that. (If they decide they want me to, I can do that instead... but most people's streamload id fields are fine... it's just some that are messed up).

Another thing to note... last one, I hope... Some people's time zones will be messed up.

Overall, the best thing to do when you first login to the new forums... is to go and edit your user control panel settings (profile fields, options, avatars, etc, etc...).
