New Streamload replacement in the works...

Well, as you may know... MediaMax (the Streamload replacement) was closed so that the staff could move everyone over to their *new* service called "TheLinkUp". This was to be the second time that the old Streamload people tried to re-invent themselves. However, all accounts and all files stored in the old Streamload accounts were migrated over to mediamax, and we were promised that they would be moved over to TheLinkUp as well.

Then about 2 weeks ago, TheLinkUp people announced that the move was unsuccessful, and that they were going to be giving up and shutting everything down.

They migrated the accounts of a few select users, and were told that we all had until August 8th to grab everything we could before the server was shut off permanently.

So, I talked to a friend who currently owns a "megaupload" *type* service. (He's owned it for years), and he is working on adding a "subscription" option to his site, and is willing to work with us to make a streamload type replacement service under his brand.

For now... he's ordered a TON of extra hardware, and we are working on grabbing the (very large) archive out of those people's accounts who's files were migrated to TLU. We are on schedule to grab most of it before August 8th when TLU shuts off for good... but could use some help.

I'm asking all the mods/staff of Noated to contact me to help test, give feedback, and help with migration of files. (Even if you aren't staff... if you'd like to help, just let me know!)

Update:

They have written a script to pull all the files off of TLU, but I need people to go thru their shared content and make me text files with the download links. They can then grab them right from TLU servers directly to his servers.

Go into shared files/folders list... click the Download checkbox on the left side, then click the "download" at the top, then 'copy to clipboard' then paste into a plain text file.


He's also setting up a LJ for people to talk directly to his staff and get more organized... if you'd like access, ask me (here or by PM).
